GOOD GOLLY, MISS MOLLY

A New "Residence" in My Apartment

I have always loved pets....and have had a huge array of animals in the different homes I have lived in throughout my life. My youngest daughter, Lisabeth, was the "animal" kid...you know, the one who sees a bird laying in the grass and thinks she can save it if she brings it in and feeds it carrots or lettuce? Or the one who picks out the pregnant Guinea Pig or Rabbit at the pet store so we will have "babies"!!?

At one time we had a French Lob Rabbit, a Parrot (or was it a Parakeet?), 9 Guinea Pigs, a Rat, a Husky, and a Husky/Wolf mix dog. So, to be without ANY pet for the past 7 months has been pretty difficult. It was made more difficult when I sat next to a young couple on the plane when I went back to Alaska for Christmas. They had a cute little Toy Chawawa who didn't make a sound and who was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Then of course is the Sunday Seattle Times which always has a pet section with pictures and web sites to go to. If I had the money I would have had a Mini Australian Shepherd...what cuties!!! They only weight about 15 pounds when fully grown.

My restraint has been astonishing in the face of all these temptations, along with almost every household in my apartment complex having a dog. I see many of them when they are out walking with their owners and one of my favorites is a little fur ball of a dog who is always dirty but so adorable and her name is "LuLu". She is so friendly and almost acts starved for affection.

Introducing "Miss Molly".

Soooooo, it is no wonder that my need for "PET LOVE" got the better of me and I practically flew out of my apartment last Thursday, arriving at PetCo, determined to leave with a new "FRIEND"!!

Her name is "MISS MOLLY". She is a full American Guinea Pig and is just so adorable. She is very cuddly and I love her already. She adores having carrots, carrot tops, and chopped apples. I bring her out of her fancy cage (seen at the top of this blog....which, I might add, I put together all by myself), and we cuddle, she especially loves being under my chin and just squeeks so cute while I pet her. This morning I let her run around a little bit and most Guinea Pigs just sit there but not Miss Molly....she took off like she was on a mission!!

My Little "Cuddle Bug"!

I'm so glad to have this little addition to my life. She is really sweet.

I hope you have "Pet Love" in your life too.

Huggs, Janie
